Tuition and Fees

Tuition for US Residents 2027-2028

Middle School (Grades 6-8): $33,600* per year (8:00am – 4:00pm)

High School (Grades 9-12): $44,700* per year (8:00am – 4:00pm)

(Tuition includes the cost of instruction, books and educational materials, and laboratory costs.)

Fee for art supplies or costumes/props: $500 per year

After school program (optional): free with $50 registration fee per year (4:00pm – 6:00pm) Learn more about clubs and activities.

*Applies to new applicants. (Tuition for current students will increase by 3-5% only, based on the 2026-2027 tuition.)

Tuition Continuity for Current HSArts Families

As part of our commitment to supporting students throughout their HSArts educational journey, current HSArts Middle School students who are admitted to and continue into the HSArts High School program will receive tuition continuity.

For families currently paying the full Middle School tuition rate, the student’s tuition will remain at the same rate upon entering the High School program.**

**Tuition continuity applies to eligible continuing HSArts students and is subject to the school’s annual enrollment terms and policies.

Tuition for International Students 2027-2028

Middle School (Grades 6-8): $39,000* /year (8:00am – 6:00pm)

High School (Grades 9-12): $49,800* /year (8:00am – 6:00pm)

(Tuition includes the cost of instruction, books and educational materials, laboratory costs and the after school program.)

Fee for art supplies or costumes/props: $500 per year

*Applies to new applicants. (Tuition for current students will increase by 3-5% only, based on the 2026-2027 tuition.)

School Lunch (Optional)

School Lunch Program: $1,800 per year, which is typically a healthy home-cooked Chinese buffet including soup, rice, fresh vegetables, meats, milk and fruit. On Fridays, homemade organic pizza, fresh fruit, milk and juice is served. Learn more about The Kitchen.

Scholarships and Financial Aid Awards

San Francisco High School of the Arts awards need-based tuition assistance to domestic students on a case-by-case basis. We takes into account a family’s need and the availability of funds before offering financial aid.

We partner with School and Student Services (SSS) in our financial aid process. Applicants will need complete the comprehensive SSS Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). Visit our Scholarship and Financial Aid page for more details.
