HSArts Named to Advanced Placement School Honor Roll

San Francisco, CA – We are proud to announce that San Francisco High School of the Arts has been named to the 2024 Advanced Placement® (AP®) School Honor Roll by the College Board, earning the prestigious PLATINUM distinction. HSArts received this award last year as well, a recognition given to the top 6% of schools in the U.S. and Canada in 2023. This year, we are proud to once again join the AP® hall of fame!

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

“At HSArts, our students are encouraged to strive for excellence both in academics and the arts. This recognition as a Platinum AP Honor Roll School reflects their dedication, perseverance, and the well-rounded education we are proud to offer.” said Dr. Sherry Zhang, Co-founder and Head of School, San Francisco High School of the Arts.

“AP gives students opportunity to engage with college-level work, to earn college credit and placement, and to potentially boost their grade point averages,” said Trevor Packer, head of the AP program. “The schools that have earned this distinction are proof that it is possible to expand access to these college-level courses and still drive strong performance – they represent the best of AP.”

Unique to the Bay Area, San Francisco High School of the Arts (HSArts) is the only private arts school for students in grades 6 – 12. Just steps from Golden Gate Park, HSArts offers your child a path to self-mastery through professional arts training and rigorous academics. Our award winning artists and educators give each student the individualized support and attention they deserve. At HSArts, we strive for excellence in both Academics and in the arts. Our graduates consistently go on to attend top universities.

HSArts Community Newsletter – Nov & Dec ’25

December has always been our month of light, music, and joyful celebration, and, by cherished tradition, our Kindness Month.

Yet when we choose it, something extraordinary happens: we break the chain of hurt, heal a piece of the world, and grow into the fullest, most alive version of ourselves.
